Product Management and Engineering leadership for the Search Intelligence division at AT&T Interactive (ATTi). Utilized agile product and engineering practices to rapidly launch and improve applications and features focusing on search relevance, search usability, mobile search and social search and discovery systems. Implemented metrics-based approach to evaluating product/feature value and feasibility, and used this approach to improve the high-value output of various engineering teams.

SEARCH RELEVANCE: Guided the design and implementation of the new solr-based search platform, incorporating geographic, ontological and social components into an algorithmic search model. Also initiated efforts to bring machine learning techniques to bear on search relevance, aiming to improve search results over time.

SEARCH USABILITY: Designed and guided the implementation of new search interface tools, including novel forms of multi-modal search (voice, map, single-search-box), natural language processing engines for query comprehension, and discovery feedback mechanisms, assisting users in their searches.

MOBILE SEARCH: Managed the creation and evolution of the Syndication API, the search service powering ATTi’s mobile search applications. Iteratively improved methods to increase user satisfaction and engagement in the mobile search arena by working closely with mobile users and engineers.

SOCIAL SEARCH + DISCOVERY: Provided requirements and algorithm design along with search UX design for new social search site (still in limited beta). Worked to simplify and focus on core usability, and to add flexibility to the site to be able to capture emergent usage patterns of early user groups.

Product Management of multi-product portfolio, spanning web, desktop and embedded markets, along with interface and usability design. Market analysis, implementation and launch.

SOCIAL MUSIC SITE: Designed, launched and grew social music site, highlighting algorithmic discovery of music and sharing of music discovery modes and playlists.

WEB PLATFORM: Design and implementation of communication architecture and REST API for distributed data aggregation and query access from across the globe.

DESKTOP PLATFORM: Design and management of multi-OS SDK. Requirements and specification of clear C++ interface layer for ease of integration with other desktop and web services.

MOBILE/EMBEDDED PLATFORM: Requirements and specification of a modular and scalable system to allow portability of software into multiple target environments. Targeting ARM 7 and 9, Blackfin DSP, iPhone, BlackBerry and related platforms.

Agile management of design and development for complex enterprise applications developed in Rails and PHP. Responsible for client-interface, domain modeling and process guidance in maintaining agile relationships.

INTERNATIONAL MEDIA CLIENT: Information architecture for an internationalized process management and media control system for a large media company.

ENTERPRISE LOGISTICS SYSTEM: Design of a multi-element logistics system, including an EDI interface layer, optical scanner integration, and flexible data output and reporting.

DIGITAL ASSET MANAGEMENT: Design and implementation of a data management system to serve as a bridge between multiple existing applications for a print on demand company. Focus on data standardization and interoperability.

Designed and conducted fMRI research experiments focusing on understanding the sub-regions of the visual cortex. Collaborated on design and implementation of experimental stimuli management web application.
